This didgeridoo is hand picked by Murrundindi and is made from a native Australian Eucalyptus tree (NT Woolybutt) that has been hollowed by termites.

Once cut, the tree or sapling has been allowed to dry, to help minimise and prevent the likelihood of cracks and splits occurring later on and the bark layer is also then stripped.

It is then further shaped and refined to improve the sound and resonance. The didgeridoo is then taken back with a fine sand to reveal the character of the grain. The didgeridoo is fitted with a custom made bees wax mouthpiece. The mouthpiece provides the player with a comfortable seal. The didgeridoo is 127cm in length and plays in a key of C#.

The didgeridoo was purchased by Murrundindi in Arnham Land and is painted by Viikym (1998) in cross hatch art featuring a goanna which is a central figure in Dreamtime stories and holds significant cultural value as a totemic animal, a source of bush food and medicine. The goanna was eaten when ill to gain strength and the fat and oil was used to treat various joint and skin ailments.
